A food vlogger shared a video clip on Instagram showing the meticulous preparation of blue-coloured ghee rice which has a classic twist from the traditional recipe. The video clip was shared last week, by Pratima Pradhan, who goes by the Instagram username, thecookingamma. In the beginning of the video the food vlogger washes butterfly pea flowers and separates the petals. She then soaks one cup of rice for a few minutes before boiling some water in an earthen pot and then adds the petals to it. She separates the petals from the earthern pot.

Next she adds the soaked rice in the blue coloured boiling water and lets the rice cook in the earthen pot. She next adds ghee to the mixture. Next she takes another earthern pot and adds a table spoon of ghee to it. Next she adds Baeleaf, peppercorns, cashews and raisins so that they get fried to a golden brown colour. Next she adds chopped onions and slit green chillies for flavor. Next she adds the cooked rice to the mixture and the lets the rice be completely cooked on a slow flame.

She adds the cooked rice to steel bowl and when serves it on a golden plate covered with a banana leaf.  The video has gone viral and has got 300,120 likes till now which are only increasing. In the video a woman breaks 6 eggs in a mixing bowl. She adds one cup of sugar and dry milk to the mixture. She uses an electric whisk to mix the mixture. When the mixture is properly mixed she heats up butter in a pan. She adds crushed cashews, nuts and cardamoms to the heated butter. She further adds the egg mixture to the heated butter and let the mixture cook on a slow flame.

She gently stirs the mixture for even cooking to take place. She further adds 1 cup whipped cream to the cooked mixture and mixes it properly. After the mixture has been cooked she keeps the stock pot in a tilted position so that the extra oil is removed from the halwa. She now adds almonds and cashews to the Halwa and mixes them evenly.

The Halwa is now ready to serve. The Halwa video is gone viral on social media with 18,727 likes till now which are only increasing. Large number of Instagram users commented on the video where one user Shadan Zahedi said his mom makes halwa at home for him in winters and it is super delicious. He adds one bar of small dairy milk chocolate to the blender and 1 cup of refined flour to the mixture.

He then blends the mixture in the blender and pours the mixture into a cake mould. Next he places small pieces of dairy milk chocolate over the cake mixture. He next covers the cake mixture with silver foil. He heats up water inside a pressure cooker and carefully places the cake mould inside the pressure cooker over a cake mould stand when the water inside the pressure cooker starts boiling.

He covered the pressure cooker with its lid so that the cake gets baked inside the cooker. When the cake is fully baked he removes the cake mould from the pressure cooker. Next he cuts a piece of cake for tasting.  The bizarre food combination has left social media users confused and disgusted. One user asked why the eggs were not added straight inside the blender.

He said the quality and standards are not of restaurant level.

75 chefs in Bengaluru created the Guinness world record for world’s longest dosa on March 15. Chef Regi Matthew and his team, MTR foods celebrated its centenary with the monumental achievement. The world’s longest dosa-making process involved food experts and culinary school staff. The team was successful after 110 failed attempts.

Chef Regi Mathew shared the video of the making of the 123.03 feet dosa on Instagram. Chef Mathew wrote he is thrilled to announce a historic milestone at MTR! Proudly celebrating the 100^th year anniversary with a Guinness World Records title for the longest dosa, measuring an incredible 123.03 ft!

This monumental achievement took place at MTR factory in Bengaluru on March 15^th, 2024. Chef Mathew thanked lorman group of company, students of MS Ramaiah College of Hotel Management and everyone who contributed to the momentous occasion.

Following the feat, the dosa was distributed to local schools, surrounding communities, and MTR employees. Under the guidance of MTR’s Cuisine Centre of Exellence, this achievement not only commemorates MTR’s century long legacy but also underscores Bengaluru’s enduring reputation as a hub of culinary innovation and excellence.

Ishani and her friend visited Madras Coffee House in Connaught Place, New Delhi on March 7 for lunch. They ordered a plain dosa, but they were in for a shock when they discovered many black spots on the dosa. On closer inspection the two women found 8 cockroaches in the dosa.

Ishani asked her friend to record a video of the cockroach infested dosa. But one of the staff members came forward and took away the plate before they could finish the recording. Ishani called the police and filed a police complaint against the restaurant. The police assured the two women that they would investigate the matter.

Talking to the media, Ishani said this incident has left a bad taste on her mouth and she had a lot of doubts in her head regarding the operations at Madras Coffee House and its licence. She said she will be careful in ordering food at any restaurant now onwards. She said she would always have doubts about the level of hygiene maintained at the restaurant.

She asked did the restaurant authorities make regular visits to check their hygiene level and licences? She said she doubted it because if they did then this would not have happened. Anubhav Nanda, the manager at Madras Coffee House apologized for the incident which occurred at the restaurant.

Recently in a similar incident at a private restaurant at Selaiyur in Tambaram has come under the state food safety department’s scanner after a girl found a dead cockroach in a beverage which she had ordered there. The girl had ordered a tetrapack of flavoured milk and her parents had also filed an online complaint regarding the incident. The food safety officer of Tambaram Senthil Arumugam  told the media that a team is going to carry out an investigation of the outlet in order to find out potential violations and collect samples for testing.
