In the latest development in the Lalitpur horror case, where a 13-year-old rape survivor who went to file a police complaint was raped again by a cop. It is reported that now the in-charge of the police station who allegedly raped her again has been arrested.

The Station House Officer Tilakdhari Saroj has now been arrested. It is reported that all the cops who were posted at the police station where the incident took place have now been removed from the duty. The reports also state that a DIG level officer will investigate the case and file a report within 24 hours.

On Tuesday, the girl’s father filed an FIR in which it was stated that she was lured by four men and was taken to Bhopal on April 22, where they raped the girl for four days. Later, the accused brought her back to her village and dropped her at the concerned police station before running away.

After this, the accused SHO handed over the girl to her aunt. Then on the next day, the girl was called to the police station for the statement, and she was taken to a room in the police station in the presence of her aunt and the accused SHO raped her there.

In the FIR, the girl’s aunt has also been named as an accused in the FIR.

Lalitpur police chief Nikhil Pathak in a statement said that the SHO has been suspended and he has been named a criminal so they have formed teams to arrest him. An NGO brought the girl to my office. She had given them the details. After he was informed of it, he ensured that a case was filed.

The police of Lalitpur said that they have charged the official for rape and have held him under the stringent POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.

Several prominent people reacted to this news. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra slammed the government and said the alleged rape incident shows how genuine law and order reforms are being suppressed in the noise of bulldozers.

The girl alleged that she was raped by four men after which she went to the police station to file a police complaint along with a relative. The teen’s father on Tuesday in the FIR said that the girl was lured by four men and was taken to Bhopal on April 22, where they raped her four days after that, the accused brought her back to her village and allegedly dropped her at the concerned police station before running away.

After this, the accused police station in charge then handed over the girl to her aunt. In the FIR, it was also stated that she was called to the police station the next day to record the statement, and the next day, the accused police personnel took the girl inside a room in the police station in the presence of her aunt and raped her.

It is reported that the accused official, Station House Officer Tilakdhari Saroj has been suspended and a criminal case has been filed against him. He is currently on the run and three police teams are looking for him.

According to reports, three other accused have been arrested. Lalitpur police said that they have charged the cop for rape and under stringent sections of the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act.
