There is a good news for the moviegoers as movie theaters are all set to reopen with 50 percent occupancy from October 15 after a break of almost seven months. The movie halls across the country were shut down as the government ordered nationwide lockdown in the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic. Theatres are now going to re-open and a set of films have been announced for a re-release which include Taapsee Pannu’s Thappad, Malang starring Disha Patani, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Anil Kapoor, Kedarnath featuring late Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan, Tanhaji: The unsung warrior starring Saif Ali Khan and the producer-actor Ajay Devgn, and Shubh mangal zyada savdhaan based on a homosexual couple featuring Ayushman Khurana and Jitendra Kumar in the lead role, bollywood analyst Taran Adarsh reported in a tweet on Wednesday.

The latest to join the bandwagon is Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff starrer War, Taran Adarsh informed in a seperate tweet.

Meanwhile, multiplex chains including PVR, Carnival, INOX, and Cinepolis won’t screen the films released on the OTT platforms during the lockdown. These films include Vidya Balan’s Shakuntala Devi based on the life of the great Mathematician Shakuntla Devi, Gulabo Sitabo featuring the legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushman Khurana, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil girl, a biopic of an air force pilot starring Jahnvi Kapoor, Vidyut Jammwal’s Khuda Haafiz, Sadak 2 which also marked the directorial comeback of Mahesh Bhatt after 21 years and Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film Dil Bechara also featuring Sanjana Sanghi in lead role.

The theatres opening from October 15 have to follow the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs which include 50 per cent capacity, one seat distance in theatres, proper ventilation, wearing masks at all time, proper sanitization after every screening,  and air conditioner temperature at above 23 degree Celcius.
