WhatsApp India head Abhijit Bose and Meta Public Policy chief Rajiv Aggarwal resigned from their positions on Tuesday.

A Meta spokesperson confirmed the development and also informed that Shivnath Thukral has been appointed as the new director of public policy in India, reports said. Rajiv Aggarwal resigned from his position to pursue another opportunity, reports further stated.

Will Cathcart, Head of WhatsApp released an official statement and thanked Bose for his tremendous contributions as their first Head of WhatsApp in India. Cathcart further said Bose’s entrepreneurial drive helped the team deliver new services that have benefited millions of people and businesses.

He further said there is so much more the application can do for India and also shared his excitement to continue helping advance India’s digital transformation.

Abhijit Bose announced his resignation on his LinkedIn handle and shared his excitement about his next job. He wrote, on LinkedIn, he plans to rejoin the entrepreneurial world after a small break and his resignation as WhatsApp India head was taken with a plan.

Earlier in November, Ajit Mohan, the Meta India head resigned from his position and took charge as the president, of Asia Pacific of Snap.
