Japanese electronic brand Akai has launched its smart TVs with Fire TV OS operating program in India. With inbuilt Fire TV support, the new Akai smart TV runs Amazon’s made-for-TV user interface, with access to Android-based apps which are supported by Android phones including WhatsApp, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube, and many more.

Akai smart TVs will be available in four sizes, 32, 43, 50 and 55 inches. However, only the 43-inch and 32-inch variants has been introduced and is available on Amazon; the 43-inch one is available for Rs 23,999 and the 32-inch variant is available for Rs 14,999.

Akai announced that they will launch more options and variant in the coming months on the online shopping platform.

Akai 43-inch Smart TV specification

The 43-inch variant comes with sports a DLED panel with 1920×1080 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate and 178-degree viewing angle. The TV has 20W speakers with Dolby Audio and DTS Tru Surround. It is powered by a quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM. It has three HDMI ports, one USB port and an IR port. It has Chromecast built-in as well and supports Dual-Band Wi-Fi. Users can connect speakers with an AUX cable.

The remote is similar to the one that comes with the Amazon Fire TV stick, but it has four dedicated buttons to open Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Amazon Music and Apps+.

At the launch, an Akai spokesperson said the brand-new Akai TVs with built-in Fire TV experience will change the way Indian consumers have experienced OTT entertainment till now. At the touch of a button, the new range promises to deliver entertainment like never before, the spokesperson said.
