Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) will hold online classes in the university and its affiliated institutions through the internet until January 16 due to the increasing cases of Covid-19.

In a social media post, the institution also announced that the exams which are ongoing currently and exams that were scheduled before in the offline mode will be conducted according to the previously established date sheet.

All classes will be conducted in an online manner from January 10 to 16, 2022 in all institutions and colleges connected with the university, the university announced in a social media statement.

Students at the university had previously demanded online examinations due to the ongoing Covid crisis and because of the fear of the Omicron coronavirus variant. For the odd semester, AKTU has been conducting regular and carryover exams for undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Prof Vineet Kansal, the AKTU vice-chancellor said in a news statement that, all associated institutions had been given orders to conduct all classes online from January 10 to 16, 2022. Till January 16, 2022, the online classes will be continued in the university, after which the university will reconsider its decision and announce new guidelines.

Also, Asheesh Misra, media in charge of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow said that the institutes and the colleges have been directed to maintain strict adherence due to Covid-19 guidelines in the instructions of the colleges.
