The farmers seeking the withdrawal of the three new farm laws have dismissed the Centre’s 21-page proposal and announced that they will intensify their agitation.  They said they will boycott malls run by Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani and even Jio SIMs. The farmers said they would agitate against all MLAs, MPs and the leaders of the BJP till farm laws rolled back totally. The Sanyukta Kisan Morcha called the government proposal of amendment an insult to farmers and public who supported Bharat Bandh. The Bharat Bandh called by farmers ended peacefully on Tuesday with no major untoward incident.

The farmers’ protest entered Day 14 on Wednesday. Earlier today, the Centre had sent the 21-page proposal, which farmers said was a collation of demands made by a lesser known farm union. The protesting farmers said they want a total repealing of the three laws.

Reports had anticipated this from the farmers. Rejecting the government’s proposal, the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee said the Narendra  Modi government is arrogant about resolving farmers’ demands and all farmers organisations demand to repeal three farm acts and Electricity Bill 2020. The AIKSCC urged the farmers’ organisations to organise continuous protests in all districts and state capitals, jointly with other supporting organisations at public places.

The committee announced nationwide protests on December 14 and current state-wise protests will continue. The protest on the borders of Delhi and across the country is still continuing and more farmers are joining in Delhi. The media release further said Bharat Bandh on 8 December has proven beyond doubt the all-India footprint of the popular farmers’ protests and congratulated all sections of society for their support.
