A unique baby girl has been born in Kamla Raja Pratishthan Graha Hospital of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. To the doctor’s surprise, the girl was born with four legs.

At present, the child is said to be healthy. As a precaution, this baby girl has been shifted to an isolated ward and kept in the machine, where doctors will check her every hour.

A woman named Aarti Kushwaha, who lives on Sikandar Kampu, gave birth to a baby girl on Thursday evening at the Kamla Raja Pratishthan Graha Hospital, located at Kampu Crossroads in Gwalior.

As soon as the superintendent of JH Hospital, RKS Dhakad came to know about the birth of this unique baby girl, he also went to Kamla Raja Hospital, where he discussed the health of this girl child with other doctors.

Presently, as a precautionary measure, the doctors of Kamla Raja’s hospital have shifted this girl child to an isolated ward and kept her on a machine, where the doctors will check it every hour in their respective shifts.

The infant girl weighs 2.3 kilograms. A medical team, including the director of the Jayarogya Hospital Group, Gwalior, evaluated the newborn soon after birth.

Dr RKS Dhakad, the director of Jayarogya Hospital Group, said to ANI that the baby is physically deformed and was born with four legs. Ischiopagus is the term used in medical science to describe some foetuses that develop additional cells. The body develops in two locations when the embryo splits into two pieces. Two additional legs have grown into the lowest portion of this baby girl’s body below the waist, but they remain dormant.

Dr Dhakad also said that the Paediatric Department’s medical staff was currently examining the baby girl to see if any additional body parts have deformities. If she is found to be healthy following an examination, those legs will be amputated surgically, so that she can live a normal life.

The Superintendent also said that the newborn girl is currently being treated at Kamla Raja Hospital’s Special Newborn Care Unit in the Pediatrics Department. Continuous monitoring of the infant’s health is conducted. Her extra legs may be surgically removed, according to medical professionals. The infant girl is currently in perfect health.
