Punjab Chief Minister Bhaghwant Mann and his wife Gurpreet Kaur were blessed with a baby girl on Thursday. Mann took to X and posted that the Almighty has given him the gift of a daughter. He said both the mother and the girl are healthy. According to reports the baby was delivered at Fortis hospital Mohali.

Mann is the first chief minister in the history of re-organised Punjab to become a father while in office. He is 51 years old. He has 2 children with his ex-wife, who is now settled in Canada with the 2 children.  

Mann also shared the picture of his daughter in another post. Mann had married Kaur in 2022 after he separated from his first wife in 2015. His wedding was held at his residence in Chandigarh and was attended by select guests like Aam Aadmi Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal, MP Raghav Chadha.

The Punjab chief minister’s family members including his mother and his sister were also part of the wedding, which was carried out according to Sikh rituals. Comedian turned politician Bhagwant Mann became an MP from Sangrur for the first time when he won the 2014 Lok Sabha election on Aam Aadmi Party ticket.

His first wife Inderjit Kaur also campaigned for him during the elections. Before the Punjab assembly election the Aam Aadmi Party declared him as his CM face for Punjab. He won the elections with a thumping victory. Bhagwant Mann is the 17^th chief minister of Punjab. Mann’s 2^nd wife Gurpreet Kaur, born in 1993, is a doctor by profession and studied MBBS in Ambala. She hails from Pehowa town in Kurukshetra district. According to reports Gurpreet Kaur’s family and Mann’s family have known each other for a long time.

Bollywood Actor Swara Bhasker and her husband Fahad Ahmed welcomed their first child, a baby girl. Swara gave birth to her little angel on September 23. Swara shared the name of the baby girl Raabiyaa. According to reports the Swara has kept the name of her daughter after the Sufi mystic Rabia Basri. She also shared a number of pics of the newborn.

A woman was allegedly forced to deliver her baby outside the maternity ward of the civil hospital after being denied admission despite waiting for more than twelve hours. The hospital officials said the woman gave birth to the child outside the ward on late friday night.

A social media post over the post soon went viral, which prompted the Principal Medical officer(PMO) to order an enquiry on the incident. The woman’s husband Narendra Singh is a native of Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh. He said he works in a company and has been living with his family in Laxman Vihar colony for past several years.

Singh has filed a complaint against alleged negligence of a doctor and a nurse of the civil hospital due to which his wife was forced to deliver the baby girl outside the hospital ward.

According to Singh he reached the civil hospital around 7 am on Friday with his pregnant wife as she complained of abdominal pain. At the hospital the nurse present in the maternity ward asked Singh to come later without examining his wife whose pain was growing.

Singh said he met the doctor posted in the maternity ward but the doctor also neglected the issue. In such situation Singh said he kept on pleading for treatment but nobody paid attention.

Singh said he got upset and sat in the park of the hospital premises and waited outside the maternity ward at night but his wife was not admitted to the ward. After waiting for more than twelve hours she was forced to deliver outside the maternity ward on the first floor of the hospital late Friday night.

She had given birth to a baby girl she said. Sector 9 RWA President Prashant Chauhan took to social media to share a post over the incident. Chauhan said due to negligence in the civil hospital the life of the child or the mother could have been lost. Chauhan added strict action has to be taken against the negligent doctors and the nurses.

A baby girl with four arms and four legs and two hearts was born in a private hospital in Bihar’s Chhapra on Tuesday night. The child didn’t survive beyond 20 minutes after birth.

The birth took place at a nursing home in Chhapra at Shyam Chak where a woman gave birth to this child. The moment the hospital staff and other patients, who were present there, came to know about this case, it started to generate curiosity and conversation among them.

The child was delivered via the Caesarean procedure and was alive when she was pulled out of her mother’s womb. Unfortunately, the baby couldn’t survive. Hospital director Dr Anil Kumar said such births are rare but do occur. This happens when the egg divides into two embryos inside the uterus. Twins are born if the process occurs on time or else it can result in conjoined twins. In this case, however, the separation didn’t occur and which is why one child with four arms and four legs and two hearts was born, said the doctor.

The doctor added that the mother of such offspring undergo several difficulties when carrying the baby to term, complicating the delivery. Though the child couldn’t be saved, the woman is in good health and doctors are closely monitoring her situation.

In yet another incident of tragedy due to superstitious beliefs, a 3-month-old baby girl died, after she was reportedly branded 20 times with a hot iron by a woman faith healer as part of her “traditional methods” to cure ailments.

According to the police, the infant was admitted to government medical college Shahdol on Wednesday and later shifted to a private medical facility for advanced treatment where she succumbed on late Saturday night.

The incident, the second of its kind in Madhya Pradesh’s Shahdol district, comes days after the body of a two-and-half-month-old girl- who had allegedly died in a similar incident- was exhumed on Friday.

The mother of the first victim, a resident of Kathotia village in Sinhpur, had told the police that she had taken her child to a faith healer for treatment, the healer branded the infant over 50 times with a hot iron to “cure” her. The victim died at Shahdol Medical College last Wednesday.0

A senior police official said the faith healer has been booked, two ASHA workers suspended and the services of a supervisor terminated, during the ongoing investigation of these incidents.

He said the 40-year-old faith healer, who’s yet to be arrested, has been booked under IPC and Drugs and Magic Remedies Act provisions at the Sinhpur police station, adding that further investigation is ongoing.

A report quoted district collector Vandana Vaidya as saying that awareness was being created against this fallacious and superstitious tradition of getting children branded with hot iron to cure ailments.

Vaidya added that post mortem report of the exhumed infant’s corpse is not yet available.
