A two-match Test series will be played between India and Bangladesh in Chittagong from 14 December. For this Test series, fast bowler Jaydev Unadkat has been included in the Indian team. The pacer will be playing a Test series after 12 years and his reaction after receiving the jersey is winning the internet.

For the unversed, in the recent past, Jaydev has consistently performed well in domestic cricket, after which the Indian Cricket Board selected him for the Test team against Bangladesh. After a long wait of 12 years, this left-arm bowler got a chance in the Test team. He also got emotional after seeing Team India’s Test jersey, whose pictures were also shared by his wife Rinni on Instagram.

Significantly, in the Test series against Bangladesh, KL Rahul will take over the captaincy in place of Rohit Sharma. At present Rohit Sharma is injured and he is recovering at NCA camp. Abhimanyu Easwaran has been included in the team and might open for Indian in place of Rohit. Also, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja are yet to be fully fit. Due to which both the veterans had to be ruled out of the Test series, Navdeep Saini and Saurabh Kumar have been included in the squad.

Men in Blue are all set to take on Bangladesh in the three match ODI series which begins tomorrow at 11:30 pm. This is for the first time that the entire ODI squad will be seen together after July at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur in Dhaka.

Senior players like KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Regular captain Rohit Sharma will be joining the team after being rested post the T20 World Cup 2022. Even the young players have touched down Bangladesh after playing the T20 and ODI series against New Zealand.

With just less than 2 months left for the ODI World Cup 2023, Indian team would want to win every game and play the perfect host for the big ICC tournament. But seems like problem of the injured Indian pacers is long term now. This morning Mohammed Shami was ruled out of the India vs Bangladesh ODI series due to hand injury and young fast bowler Umran Malik will be seen replacing him.

On the other hand Jasprit Bumrah is yet not fully recovered and the team had to face the consequences of his absence in big tournaments like Asia Cup and the T20 World Cup. However, young bowlers like Mohammad Siraj, Deepak Chahar, Shahbaz Ahmed and Umran Malik have a golden chance to prove their caliber against Bangladesh.

The Indian team management and the skipper need to come up with better plans, But most importantly the Board of Cricket Control in India need to find the problem behind regular injuries to the Indian pacers. Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal returned from NCA post recovery.

Ravindra Jadeja is still not fully recovered and Deepak Chahar is just returning from an injury. The Indian team management needs to have some serious discussion with Head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma for better solutions.
