National Carrier Air India on Wednesday declared a special offer on its routes between India and Bangkok and Singapore. The company announced in a formal statement that the offer is valid for customers booking travel through March 2024 in business and economy class.

The airline also mentioned that tickets for flights between India and Singapore start at Rs 13,330, while between India and Bangkok, they start at Rs 17,045. This is for a round-trip economy ticket.

The round-trip business class fares for the India-Singapore and India-Bangkok routes start at Rs. 70,290 and Rs. 49,120, respectively. On the India-Singapore route, tickets may be purchased for as little as Rs 13,330 (round-trip economy).

The starting ticket for the India-Bangkok route is Rs 17,045 for Economy Round-trip. The round-trip cost for business class on the India-Singapore route starts at Rs 70,290.

Including all-inclusive economy round-trip tickets beginning at SGD 279 for Singapore-India itineraries and THB 9700 on Bangkok-India flights.

All platforms, including the Air India website, the iOS and Android mobile apps, and licenced travel agencies, are offering the discount.

There is a limited number of tickets available for purchase, and they are available first come, first served. On the Singapore-India routes, business class round-trip prices begin at SGD 1579.

Travellers who are interested should be aware that the only time they can book a flight at discounted prices is from October 18 to October 21 for travel through March 2024. The airline stated that due to relevant taxes and exchange rates, the fares may range slightly between places.

The airline, which is controlled by the Tata Group, unveiled a unique promotion last week for its foreign customers travelling on specific routes from India to five European destinations, including the UK.

In a distressing incident, Spandana, the wife of Kannada actor Vijay Raghavendra, tragically passed away on Monday while vacationing in Bangkok. The shocking turn of events was a result of a severe heart attack she suffered while enjoying her time in the city.

During her return to her hotel room after a shopping excursion, Spandana experienced a drop in blood pressure, which ultimately led to her collapse. Swift action was taken, and she was promptly rushed to a local hospital on Monday morning. Despite these efforts, her condition deteriorated, and she was pronounced deceased upon arrival. The mortal remains of Spandana are expected to arrive on Tuesday, with her final rites to be conducted in Bengaluru.

Known for her role in Ravichandran’s film Apoorva in 2016, Spandana was not only an actress but also a film producer. She showcased her artistic talent as a dancer and was an alumna of Stella Maris College in Bengaluru and MES College in Kerala. Her brother Rakshith Shivaram, an advocate, was also a Congress candidate in the Karnataka Assembly Elections.

Amid the shortage of medical oxygen for Covid-19 patients, the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said the government has decided to import 18 oxygen tankers from Bangkok and 21 from France to help the city bring oxygen from generation plants to hospitals.

While addressing a press conference, Kejriwal said the city has faced difficulty in getting oxygen allotted by the Centre because there is a shortage of tankers. The Delhi government has decided to import 18 tankers from Bangkok. The Delhi government has asked the Centre to provide IAF planes for this.Centre’s response has been positive, he added.

Kejriwal hopes the coordination will be successful. Once these tankers come, the problem in transporting oxygen will be sorted out, he added.

The Delhi CM said the Centre had also provided Delhi with 5 tankers to transport oxygen.

Talking about the oxygen plants from France, CM Kejirwal said, the Delhi government is importing 21 ready-to-use oxygen plants from France. They can be brought to use immediately and will be installed at different hospitals. In the next 1 month, Delhi will have 44 oxygen plants. Of these, 8 are being set up by the Centre. The other 36 will be put up in other hospitals, he said.

Kejriwal said in the past few days, he wrote to various industrialists and state governments seeking help in this regard. The Delhi government have received tremendous support from all quarters and are hopeful. We are thankful to everyone who is helping the Delhi government during this time of crisis, CM Kejriwal further said.

The ongoing Covid-19 surge in the national capital has left hospitals overburdened as people frantically search for beds with oxygen support. As per the government’s bulletin, Delhi reported 20,201 new Covid-19 infections, taking the caseload to 1,047,916 on Monday. A total of 380 people died in the last 24 hours, marking the highest ever single- day spike in deaths since the beginning of the pandemic last year. The death toll in Delhi stood at 14,628, while the total number of recoveries reached 940,930. Currently, Delhi has 92,358 active cases.
