A funny yet serious incident has been reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, where police booked an auto rickshaw driver. This comes after the photos of his vehicle carrying three kids in school uniform on top of his auto went viral on social media platforms.

Reports said the incident took place near the Nakatia area in the city, where an identified auto driver carrying children who seems to be in the age group of kids aged 1-13 years.

Seeing the negligence from the driver’s side which could lead to any accident, UP police took suo-moto cognizance of the photograph and registered an FIR under section 279 (for driving rash). Police also trying to contact the parents regarding their children’s safety.

Head Officer (SHO) of the area police station Rajeev Kumar Singh said that the police has already taken the action regarding the same. The offender has been booked and will not be spared. He also informed that all the children were wearing the school uniform, which indicates that the kids might come from the school.

In order to take care of minor students’ safety properly, a concerned team from the police department will also speak with the school administration. He said school authorities also will be asked to ensure such drivers will not play from lives in the future. The auto will also be seized under the Motor Vehicles Act, SHO added in his statement.

This is not the first time such incidents come into the limelight. Earlier, a school bus driver was booked in UP for driving his vehicle rashly which was full of minor students. The police seized the vehicle and imposed a heavy fine on him.
