A harrowing story has come to light from Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur where a BJP, who had gone to register a complaint to the police at Barra Police station, was brutally beaten up by a policeman. According to reports, the BJP worker identified as Sachin, had sought to complain against the accused who had his tea shop ransacked.

Reports suggest that as the BJP worker sought the help of the police in the matter in order to get justice, the police constable got angry at the man and brutally assaulted him.

In the video, a man can be seen surrounded by the police officials outside the station gate as things get heated up. The policeman can be seen shoving the BJP worker inside the police station and then slapping him repeatedly. The cameraman can also be seen recording and following the police officials to record the arbitrary actions committed by him.

The cameraman can also be heard questioning the police and asking that a man who has come to file a complaint is getting beaten up by the police. The video also shows the policeman assaulting the BJP worker, trying to snatch away the phone of the cameraman.

According to reports, after the incident transpired, the BJP Yuva Morcha workers rushed to the police station to protest against arbitrary actions by the police as they surrounded the police station.

The higher police officials also reached the police station to take control of the situation and calm the protesting crowd down. The police officials also promised an enquiry against the police officials in the matter.

Police’s statement

The ACP of the Barra Police station while talking to the media said that the video of a young man being assaulted by a sub-inspector has come to light, on which the police will take actions against the police officials after investigating the matter.
