Trinamool Congress MLA Idris Ali on Thursday reached Bengal Assembly in white kurta mentioning special message for the BJP and probe agencies. The MLA came to state assembly wearing white kurta mentioning slogan “CBI, ED can’t touch me. Don’t touch my body I am Male.

CBI, ED can’t touch me. Don’t touch my body I am Male, this message was printed on Trinamool MLA’s white kurta.

A video of his unique appearance in Bengal Assembly is doing rounds on social media.

In the video, the MLA can be seen appearing at the state assembly in white kurta. When a reporter asked why you came here in this attire, he replied why not.

Is this for the BJP? the reporter asked in the video. To this, the MLA can be seen saying that the BJP leaders have nothing to do. They do not talk about the development but every decides what to wear and what to eat, the MLA said in the video.

Rebel Trinamool Congress MLA Suvendu Adhikari, who resigned from the West Bengal cabinet last month, is set to join the BJP ahead of Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the state on December 19-20. Reports said Adhikari is planning to visit New Delhi on Thursday for talks with the BJP leadership.

Adhikari was seen addressing rallies with his supporters without using Trinamool symbols and flags from the last few months. Adhikari was the key man behind Banerjee’s movement in Nandigram in East Midnapore in 2007 which helped her oust the 34-year Left Front rule in Bengal.

There were reports that he was headed to the Congress a few days ago. But Adhikari is learnt to have said that while he belongs to a Congress family and was part of Youth Congress, his political purpose would not be served by joining the Congress. He said the party was weak in West Bengal while his ambition was to have a say in state politics, which could not happen by being in the Congress.

On December 2, he is said to have expressed disappointment through a WhatsApp message to party MP Saugata Roy over details of the meeting being leaked to the media claiming that all issues have been resolved. Adhikari, in his message, mentioned that he was supposed to address the media on December 6 but he didn’t like the way the details of the meeting were shared to journalists before his scheduled press conference.

BJP sources admitted that Adhikari’s joining it would be a big gain in West Bengal. Unlike many others, Adhikari has a clean image and is considered a mass leader. His exit from the Trinamool Congress has already hit the party badly.

Another BJP leader said Adhikari had some doubts about joining the BJP as he feared the Muslim support base in his area could turn hostile. BJP sources said Adhikari could influence votes in at least 40 Assembly constituencies in six districts.
