Amid several instances of communal violence across the country, a Muslim family in Bihar has set an example of religious harmony by performing the last rites of their Hindu employee who was working with them for the last 25 years in the Sabzibagh locality of Patna district.

A video showing Mohammad Rizwan Khan carrying Ramdev Sah’s body on a bier has been doing rounds on social media.

In the video, Mohammad Rizwan and his family members could be seen giving shoulders to the bier and chanting Ram Naam Satya Hai (Lord Ram is truth) to cremate his body at the local Gulbi Ghat on Saturday. Since then the heart-warming video is doing rounds on social media.

The deceased Ramdeo Sah (75), who was working at Rizwan’s hosiery outlet in Patna, had stayed with the Muslim family for 25 years and met his end discharging his duty there.

With the help of many Muslim neighbours, Rizwan and his family members have cremated Sah at Gulbi Ghat in Patna. Sah came to Mr Rizwan’s shop more than two decades ago and he was impressed by his simplicity, the locals said.

Sah had reached Rizwan’s shop almost 25 years back in search of odd jobs. He was also hungry when he met first with Rizwan who first served him food and then employed him as an accountant at his cloth shop.

Since then, Sah became a part of this Muslim family and never left him since there was none in his family.

Commenting on the ongoing communal clashes across the country, Rizwan said that this is not the true nature of human beings. What is being shown on TV doesn’t depict the correct picture. When a child gets injured good people don’t ask for his or her religion but provide first aid, he said.
