The family members of Chief of Defence General Bipin Rawat, Madhulika Rawat, paid last tribute to them on Friday. Several officials too joined at the Brar Square Crematorium to pay the last rites. General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Rawat, and 11 other army officials died in an Indian Air Force chopper crash in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor on December 8.

According to the protocols, 800 service personnel were in attendance and he was accorded a 17-gun salute at his funeral.

Pictures and videos of General Bipin Rawat’ daughters- Kritika and Tarini Rawat paying tribute to him are doing rounds on the internet. In the pictures, it can be seen other members of General Rawat’s family also joined them in paying last respects.

Several political leaders including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal paid the last tribute to CDS General Bipin Rawat.

The Defence Attaches of different nations also paid tribute to him. Emmanuel Lenain, Ambassador of France to India and Alex Ellis, British High Commissioner to India were also present at the crematorium.

There are pictures being circulated in which it can be seen that a crowd in large number gathered outside as armed forces personnel took the mortal remains of Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat. The crowd was heard chanting General Rwat amar rahe and Vande Mataram. Apart from this, the drummers also paid last tribute to him.
