At the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw competition, creating history for Indian athletics. The golden boy of Indian athletics’ achievement of winning a gold medal in this historic event sealed his place in history.

Neeraj’s remarkable accomplishment happened in the wee hours of August 28 as he faced up against rivals from around the globe. He showed tremendous skill by throwing brilliantly on his second attempt, measuring 88.17 metres, sealing his victory in the competition.

With this tremendous effort, Neeraj not only won the gold medal, but also cemented his position as an international pathfinder for Indian sports.

With a silver medal in hand, Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem, another strong competitor, finished only behind Neeraj’s achievement. Nadeem managed a remarkable throw of 87.82 metres, continuing his stellar performance from prior Commonwealth Games appearances.

Jakub Vadlejch of the Czech Republic earned the third position on the podium by showcasing his talent with a best throw of 86.67 metres.

This is a very proud moment for our country as we got a gold medal in the World Championship as well, said Neeraj’s father Satish Kumar, who was clearly pleased with his son’s accomplishment. When Neeraj returns to India, we shall celebrate.

Congratulatory messages flooded in from all directions as word of Neeraj’s historic victory spread. Anurag Thakur, India’s Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, was among the revellers and lauded Neeraj’s accomplishment as a turning point in Indian athletic history. He embraced social media to convey his joy and admiration for the athlete’s outstanding accomplishment.

Along with other well-wishers, the Indian Army praised Neeraj’s accomplishment. The Indian Army congratulated him on his historic accomplishment on numerous social media channels, recognising it as such.

Neeraj’s gold medal increases India’s total of medals at the World Athletics Championships and adds a shining accomplishment to his own record. He earlier won a silver medal in the Championships, making this victory his second medal overall.

On Sunday, August 27, Neeraj Chopra will compete in the men’s javelin final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, aiming to complete what has grown into a spectacular trophy cabinet.

The Olympic Gold Medalist and Diamond Trophy winner, who placed second in last year’s World Athletics Championships final, will compete on the penultimate day of the global meet in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the National Athletics Centre in the Hungarian city.

Olympic superstars have come from India. However, it took the nation over ten years for its first gold medalist in an individual Olympic event. A generation of young people were inspired by the famous Abhinav Bindra after he won the prestigious yellow medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. 13 years later, Neeraj joined Bindra at the top, getting the gold medal in the men’s javelin competition at the Tokyo Olympics with one of the most remarkable performances by an Indian athlete.

It is fair to assume that Neeraj Chopra has never before dominated a track event like an Indian athlete has. His one-and-done approach is starting to stand out. He warms up for a throw at international events with an air of predictability. He’s almost certain to come home with a medal, that much is certain. Although India has had several outstanding athletic accomplishments in the past, no one has ever been as easily placed on the podium as the superstar javelin thrower.

He will have another chance to establish his legacy on Sunday. No Indian has ever placed first at the World Athletics Championships in any of the previous 18 competitions. The only two medals India has won in the world meet so far are Neeraj’s silver from last year in Eugene and Anju Boby George’s sensational bronze in the women’s long jump in 2005 in Paris.

Dhakkad is touted to be India’s first female led spy thriller created on a massive scale. The film also stars Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta in lead roles. It is being said that the film will have high octane action sequences between Kangana and Rampal. Directed by Razneesh Razy Ghai and jointly bankrolled by Deepak Mukut and Sohel Maklai, the film is written by Chintan Gandhi and Rinish Ravindra.The film will also mark Kangana’s first collaboration with screenwriter Ritesh Shah.

The film is scheduled for theatrical release on October 1, 2021.
