Busking artist Varun Dagar is beaten up and abused by policemen on the streets of Delhi. Varun can often be seen performing on the streets of Connaught Place (CP). Recently, Varun on his Instagram handle posted a video of when police tried to arrest him but fans stood in support of the busker.

The girl who is filming the video requests the cops not to arrest Varun Dagar because he has done nothing wrong. The cop appears to have beaten him and restricted him from performing on the streets in the video. When the cop was about to arrest him, the girl stopped him and asked the cop to show papers that state busking is illegal.

He posted a video with the caption, “Delhi police came and snatched my belongings from my hand. I didn’t let them take my stuff because I wasn’t performing at that time. They treated me as if I had committed a crime. They were rude to me. I understand they will not allow me to do busking, but it is not illegal either. I haven’t done anything wrong. I’m not doing anything unlawful on the streets; I’m simply performing. Now you tell me what to do?”

Soon after he uploaded the video, people started flooding the comment section in his support. One of the users commented, We stand with you Varun don’t you worry, this is not the way to treat someone in the nightshade, he is just entertaining everybody and this isn’t a crime! Can you control the people from stealing phones -THE pickpocketers who are almost in every crowded part of India? 

Another wrote, That’s why art/artists are not growing in India, what is wrong with you Delhi Police?

Varun Dagar became a sensation among the masses for his unique dancing style. He has also participated in the television dance reality show ‘India’s Best Dancer’ as a contestant.
