Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal retorted to Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Twitter. In his tweet, Kejriwal called the latter cruel and implied that he didn’t pay any heed to people in UP dying due to Covid-19.

Following Yogi’s traitor remark, Kejriwal said that the Chief Minister should quit this brawl just like he was busy giving false advertisements in Times magazine and spending crores of rupees when dead bodies of people of UP were flowing in the river. He added that he has never seen such a cruel leader like Yogi. This tweet was shared late at night on February 7, 2022.

This tweet from the Chief Minister of Delhi was a reply to Yogi. Earlier on the same day, CM Yogi tweeted that Kejriwal forced the workers of UP to leave Delhi when the entire humanity was groaning due to the pain of Covid-19. He added that the Delhi government did an undemocratic and inhuman act like leaving even small children and women helpless on the UP border in the middle of the night. He ended his tweet on a loose end by calling Arvind Kejriwal a traitor of humanity.

As elections are approaching, both the Chief Ministers have been quite active on their social media. On Monday, February 8, 2022, Kejriwal tweeted that PM Modi’s statement about the migrant conditions during Covid-19 was false. He said that the statement of the Prime Minister is completely false. He added that the country hoped that the Prime Minister will be sensitive to those who have suffered the pain of the Corona period and those who have lost their loved ones. He also said that it does not suit the Prime Minister of India to do politics on the suffering of the people. These tweets have received mixed reactions from people.

The oxygen in some of the Delhi’s biggest Covid hospitals have been refilled on Tuesday night, hours after the healthcare facilities reported oxygen shortage and flagged the issue in court through appeals by politicians, including Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Oxygen tankers arrived late on Tuesday at some of the biggest hospitals, including Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital which were merely hours away from running out of stock.

Sir Ganga Ram hospital received 4,500 cubic meters of oxygen from a private vendor and 6,000 cubic meters from INOX late night on Tuesday. The existing supply should last for 24 hours till Thursday morning. At present, the total requirement is 11,000 cubic meters. Indian Oxygen Limited and Inox have promised to refill the tanks during the day, said Dr. D.S. Rana, Chairman of the hospital.

Delhi’s biggest Covid-19 facility, the Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan Hospital, received 10 tonnes of oxygen supplies last night. Another medical facility that received supplies last night were the state-run Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital.

Meanwhile, officials at Max Hospital in east Delhi’s Patparganj, however, said that one consignment from Inox, which was expected at 2 am, arrived only at 8 this morning. Even this consignment is not enough to last beyond the afternoon, they said. Of the 300 patients in the hospital, 200 are on oxygen support, officials there said.

The shortage of oxygen was raised by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other ministers of his cabinet. Calling it a serious oxygen crisis, the CM urged the Centre to immediately provide oxygen to the city.
