A woman gave birth to a baby on a road in a village of Ratlam district in Madhya Pradesh. She was being taken to the hospital by bike.

A video of this incident was doing rounds on the internet on Monday. Sharing an image of this incident a Twitter user wrote that the delivery had to be done on the road due to the labour pain. The woman was being taken to the hospital by bike. The incident took place at Bayatok village of Barda Gram Panchayat in Ratlam district.

This is not the first case of childbirth on the roads in our country. A woman was forced to give birth to a child on the road inside the Safdarganj Hospital premises in the national capital Delhi. The relatives alleged that they requested the hospital authorities but they were not taken inside. The hospital administration started an enquiry after the incident went viral on social media.

The hospital administration claimed that the doctors had examined the woman and offered admission, but the woman did not return with the admission paper.

In a similar incident, a woman gave birth on the road in Bari town of Dholpur district. The woman waited for an ambulance, but the ambulance did not come.

On March 2021, a woman gave birth on the roadside, due to a lack of doctors at the Government Hospital in Jawahar Nagar of Medchal District in Telangana.

Sharing this incident on Twitter Chiguru Prashanth wrote that this was a shameful moment for those who live in the illusionary world of Developed India! A Twitter user wrote that It was a moment of deep shame for them that a tragedy like this befell an Indian citizen in this day and age.
