Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) lifted the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 trophy by defeating Delhi capitals by 8 wickets at the Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi on Sunday. A cab driver in Bengaluru caught the attention of social media users as he treated his passengers with chocolates to celebrate RCB’s win.

A social media user Navneeth Krishna took to X and wrote she got into the cab this morning in Bengaluru and got this chocolate from the cab driver! He was giving out chocolates to all his customers today! Why he was doing so he said because RCB won. She was surprised at his response and said this city, its fans and its love is unreal.

The post has gone viral on social media with 79900 views. Large number of fans and social media users started commenting on the social media post. One user RSM said he was reading something good about Bengaluru after a long long time.

In another moment of grand celebration a video of thousands of fans gathered in the city went viral. The video shows fans chanting RCB-RCB and burning firecrackers in the jam packed area. This is RCB’s first ever T20 title across WPL and the Indian Premier League.

But the internet was his biggest reward. At the back, Kevin’s daughter made a fundraiser page for her dad’s dedication. Following the success of the video, his daughter Sernya Ford created a GoFundMe campaign with the goal of raising just $200 more to help him to see his grandkids. The fundraising page started for Kevin’s daughter has so far received donations of over Rs 1.5 crore.

“The man in that video is my father. He has worked at his job for 27 years and yes, he has never missed a day of work,” Kevin Ford’s daughter wrote on the GoFundMe page.

Ford started working at the firm as a single father and has remained there because of the employer’s health insurance plan, she said.

Kevin has put efforts to raise his kids while taking no vacations or leave, over the past 27 years. Internet users have poured both their hearts and money into Kevins’ crowd-funding website.

According to a report in DailyMail, the GoFundMe page has more than $200,000 in funds.
