As the vote counting in Tripura and the other two northeastern states concludes today. The Bhartiya Janata Party is set to return to power and secure a second term in Tripura by winning 31 seats and continuing to lead on 1.

The Tripura election which was predicted to be a clash between the BJP-IPFT alliance and the Congress-left alliance saw a surprising change in trends. TIPRA Motha led by ex-royal family member Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barma received an unprecedented response which led the Tripura polling to be a triangular fight.
