A low-intensity blast was reported in the civil court in Bihar’s Patna on Friday. According to the reports, one policeman was injured in the incident. Police rushed to the spot immediately and brought the situation under control.

Patna SSP Manavjit Singh said ASI Kadam Kuwan Madan Singh’s right hand has been injured and he has been admitted to PMCH hospital. No other reports of injuries have been reported yet.

The reports state that the sub-inspector from Kadamkuwan police station reached the court with the recent explosives that he recovered from Patel hostel in the city. He brought the bomb as a piece of evidence to the court and kept it on the table while he was doing some paperwork. During this, a bomb placed on the table suddenly exploded, and the constable who was injured was admitted to the hospital. According to the doctors, the constable is out of danger.

Because of its low intensity, no loss of life or damage to property was reported. Soon after the explosion, the top police officers, including the Police of Pirbahor police station, reached the spot. The investigation is underway because the bomb exploded as soon as it was kept on the premises.

Earlier this week, gunpowder and the materials used for making explosives were recovered from the Patel Hostel of Patna University. When the police reached the hostel after receiving information about the criminal activity taking place in the hostel, the students who were present in the room, fled. The probe is underway.
