In the wake of rise in Covid-19 cases Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) mayor Kishori Pednekar on Tuesday said that a lockdown may have to be imposed in Mumbai. BMC mayor’s statement came a day after Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar asserted that government might take strict action if coronavirus cases continue to rise.

Her statement came in the wake of people’s negligence in not following the rules of wearing the mask and following the social distancing norms. Most people traveling in trains don’t wear masks. People must take precautions else we would head towards another lockdown, she said. Whether lockdown will be implemented again, is in the hands of people, she added.
