Casteism still prevails in UP as yet again, another incident of a Dalit man being subjected to casteist violence has come to light from UP’s Pratapgarh. A video has emerged from UP’s Pratapgarh where a man who belongs to the Dalit community can be seen sitting on a bike while 2 men can be seen assaulting the Dalit man. In the video, the Dalit man can be seen covering his face as the goons unleash slap after slap on the man.

The Dalit man who was on his bike can be seen getting off it because his phone was knocked down due to slapping. The goons can be seen continuing their assault even though another man can be seen trying to stop the goons from hitting the man. A man who is not in the video can also be seen asking why are they hitting the man and also asking are you mad?

According to reports, the goons also hurled casteist slurs toward the Dalit man, and in the video, the man can also be seen trying to escape away from the casteist goons. The police while taking cognizance of the matter Tweeted that a case has been registered pertaining to the case and also added that the police are investigating further to find the perpetrators.

Another case of a similar nature came to light from UP’s Pratapgarh where a 50-year-old man was thrashed by three people after the 50-year-old man refused to drop them at a place which resulted in them resorting to violence and killing the 50-year-old man, Jagroop Harijan.

The incident transpired on the 30th of September and subsequently, the man succumbed to his injuries. According to reports, the accused in the incident were charged with the SC/ST act and charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
