A second year BA LLB student from the Dalit community alleged that he was assaulted by police in Greater Noida and was also forced to drink urine by the policemen. The student further alleged that he was thrashed inside the Sector Beta 2 police station in Gautam Buddh Nagar district’s Greater Noida Area.

Furthermore, the student alleged that he was falsely implicated in an extortion case after he tipped off the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police about a sex racket being run from a spa and massage centre. He narrated that a woman who was running the sex racket was sent to jail from Sector 49 police station in Noida. Later, the woman and her husband, who was his friend implicated him in a false case of extortion.

Giving an account of his assault by the Noida police, the LLB student said that he was held in a room on the upper deck of the building and was thrashed to an extent where he started bleeding. He mentioned that he urged the policemen that he had undergone a fistula operation. Later, when he asked for water to drink, he was given urine in a pot from the bathroom and was forced to drink it.

He added, he was picked up by the police on November 18, last year from outside the SNG Plaza in Greater Noida. He was picked up by the police around 1:30 pm but was put into custody after 5 pm.

The student further asserted that he has met several officers with his requests, however his case is being delayed. He urged that the matter should be probed impartially adding that if he have done anything wrong, then he should be charged. Nevertheless, he said that he have proof and evidence to prove his case and he will seek for justice.

A story has come to light from Tamil Nadu’s Erode district where 6 students were made to clean the government school toilet by the school authorities. The video of the young students went viral where they can be seen cleaning the toilets inside the school premises.

According to reports, one of the parent of the student learned about the the incident after her child contracted dengue. The mother asked her son where he had been going to trace back his contraction of dengue, to which the child replied that it must have been when the he was carrying out the toilet cleaning duty.

After learning about her child’s account, the mother filled a case against the principal of the government school, Geeta Rani. The school’s principal is reportedly absconding. The reports also claim that the principal had separated only the students belonging to the Schedule castes for the cleaning duty of the toilet.

In the video, 2 students can be seen cleaning the school’s toilet with a broom as one boy meticulously carries out their job. Another student also rushes in to help as they takes care of the cobweb stuck on the ceiling by using a broom stick.

Police action

According to reports, the Tamil Nadu police are further probing into the incident and charged the principal of the school with Juvenile Justice Act and have also invoked the SCST (Prevention of Atrocities) act.

Another incident of a similar nature came to light from Tamil Nadu;s Thanjavur district where a barber shop owner refused to give haircut services to the SCST people. The reports also suggest that the barber, after refusign to give haircuts to the people belonging to the SCST community, was arrested by the police and charged with SCST (Prevention of Atrocities) act.

Again! A shocking incident has been reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Auraiya district, where a Dalit student of class 10 from Adarsh Intercollege has been beaten to death by an upper-caste Hindu teacher. The accused teacher Ashwini Singh who teaches social science committed the crime on September 7 after the victim made a minor mistake in the exam.

Reports say that initially the victim Nikhil Dohre was admitted to the nearby hospital. Later, with passing each day, when his condition got deteriorated during treatment, he died.

A verified page on Twitter with the name the Dalit voice shared the heart-wrenching incident on its official page. While sharing the news, it tweeted that a very painful and terrible incident happened in UP’s Auraiya. Class 10 Dalit student from Adarsh Intercollege, brutally beaten to death by caste Hindu teacher Ashwini Singh. FIR lodged at Acchalda police station.

Superintendent of Police Auraiya, Charu Nigam said that a team has been in talks with Etawah CMO to get the panel and video graph to investigate the matter and the student’s cause of death. She said police taking appropriate action regarding the same and a special police team has been formed to arrest the accused. Justice will be delivered soon, Nigam added.

This is not the first time such an incident come into the limelight. Earlier, a mass protest erupted in the UP when a Dalit boy Indra Meghwal, a student of a private school in Surana village of Rajasthawas beaten to death for touching a water pot.

Agitated people across the state also came to the streets, asking the justice for the Dalit boy.
