The world is going to witness a total solar eclipse and the last of the year on December 4. The total solar eclipse will be visible from Antarctica, countries of South America, South Africa, Australia and countries in the southern Atlantic.

However, the total solar eclipse will not be visible in India. The total solar eclipse is when the disk of the Sun is fully obscured by the Moon, but in a partial and annual solar eclipse, only a part of the Sun is obscured. In the simplest terms, a total solar eclipse is formed when the sun, moon and earth are in a direct line.

Date and time of the total solar eclipse:

According to many scientists, this total solar eclipse will last approx four hours and eight minutes. As per NASA scientists, the solar eclipse will begin as a partial solar eclipse on December 4 at 5:29 am Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and the total solar eclipse will begin at 07:00 am (UTC) and end at 09:37 am (UTC).

Where to watch the total solar eclipse?

The Solar Eclipse will be visible on December 4 in some countries, but those who wish to watch the natural event can go to the NASA website, where they will show the live broadcast, which will also show the view of Union Glacier in Antarctica. This event will also be live-streamed on NASA’s Youtube channel.

As per Indian Standard Time, the total solar eclipse will take place on December 4 (Saturday) from 10:59 am to 03:07 pm, lasting approx 4 hours and 8 minutes.
