Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals by 33 runs to seal their berth in playoff. DC’s bowling unit restricted Royals to 121-6 after Delhi put the target of 155-6, with Iyer’s 43 runs and a quick 28 runs of Hetmyer.

After winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals opted to field first and invited DC to bat. Batting first DC made 154-6 on a tough pitch. Delhi didn’t had a good start, as both their openers got out in first 5 overs of the game. Middle order batsmen Shreyash Iyer and Rishabh Pant added 62 runs for 3^rd wicket before Mustafizur bowled Pant. With Iyer’s 43 and Hetmyer 28 runs Delhi posted 154-6 in 20 overs and set the target of 155 for Rajasthan. Mustafizur and Chetan Sakariya scalped 2 wickets each for Rajasthan.

From the very start Rajasthan never seemed to chase the target. RR lost their first 2 wickets in 2 balls. Captain Sanju Samson (70 runs) and Mahipal Lormor (19) were only RR batsmen who scored in double digit. The bowling unit led by Anrich Nortje restricted DC’s batsmen to 121-6 and won the match by 33 runs. With this win Delhi has now qualified for playoff. Anrich Nortje took 2 wickets for DC by giving only 18 runs in 4 overs. Rabada, Avesh khan, Ashwin and Axar Patel took 1 wicket each.
With the wicket of David Miller, R Ashwin completed his 250 T20 wickets.

Rajasthan is currently 7^th on points table with 8 points in 9 matches, the race to playoffs is getting more interesting by each passing day. Mumbai, Rajasthan, Punjab and Kolkata, all of them have 8 points. With DC and CSK booked top 2 places in playoffs, only two places are left for other teams. Sunrisers Hyderabad are already out of the tournament.
