BJP workers on Thursday allegedly vandalised the office of Delhi Jal Board Vice-Chairman Raghav Chaddha at the agency headquarters, over the party’s support to protesting farmers. Chaddha, told reporters that the BJP workers warned Kejriwal that he should stop extending his support to farmers otherwise these types of attacks would be carried out on the houses and offices of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs and leaders. However, BJP denied the allegations, saying the attack was orchestrated by AAP.

Soon after the attack, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted a defiant message in Hindi saying his party is not afraid of such cowardly attacks. The attack is a shameful act. He said his party will stand with the farmers till the end. Kejriwal appealed to his party workers not to be afraid of such cowardly attacks of the BJP and fully support farmers.

Raghav Chaddha also tweeted a video of his damaged office, showing broken  doors, flowerpots and glasses scattered on the floor.  

Chaddha claimed that around 250 people barged into his office and broke the glasses, doors and pots. The goons attacked his staff members and injured them, he added. He also said the attack took place with the help of Delhi police otherwise how could the goons attack such a high security area.

Aam Aadmi Party issued a statement that said the BJP workers were holding a protest outside the Jal Board office under the leadership of Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP spokesperson Virendra Babar alleged that the AAP had itself orchestrated the attack and was now blaming the saffron party. The Delhi Police has detained party unit chief Adesh Gupta and many workers, but the party is not afraid of these tactics, he said.

Earlier this month, AAP had claimed that more than two dozen BJP men forcefully entered the official residence of Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia when he was not at home.

Meanwhile, Sisodia condemned the attack and tweeted that hooliganism is the second name of BJP and that its supporters are now openly barging into homes and offices and indulging in hooliganism, his tweet in Hindi read.
