The special cell of Delhi Police on Tuesday arrested a Pakistani terrorist from the Ramesh Park area of Laxmi Nagar. After questioning, the police have recovered an AK-47 assault rifle with one extra magazine and 60 rounds, one hand grenade, 2 sophisticated pistols with 50 rounds from his possession.

On the arrest of Pakistani terrorist, Pramod Kushwaha, the Deputy Commissioner of Delhi police special cell said that the initial investigation had revealed his involvement in sleeper cells and orchestrating subversive activities. He entered India through Bangladesh on the directions of Pakistan’s ISI, Kushwaha said.

The terrorist, identified as Mohammad Asraf alias Ali, has been booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), Explosives Act and Arms Act by the Delhi Police Special Cell by the Delhi Police.

Reports claimed that Ali hails from Pakistan’s Punjab province and has been trained by Pakistan’s ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) and was living with a fake ID of an Indian national in Delhi’s Shastri Nagar for more than a decade.

The special cell operation was monitored by the Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana.

The police also said he got several fake IDs, one such with the name of Ahmed Noori and had also acquired Indian passport through which he travelled to Thailand and Saudi Arabia. He married an Indian woman in Ghaziabad for documents and had acquired Indian ID in Bihar, the DCP Kushwaha said.

Ali’s former landlord Uzaib agreed to cooperate with the Delhi police in the investigation. Ali lived here for 6 months after that he left and his family was not in touch with him. If needed, he will cooperate with the police, the former landlord told the ANI.

The Patiala House Court today remanded Ashraf in police custody for 14 days.

In other India News, A BJP ward member candidate has managed to get 1 vote in Tamil Nadu local body polls, though there are five members in his family.

The Special Cell of Delhi Police and the team of Uttar Pradesh ATS have arrested 6 suspected terrorists of Pakistan Terror Module in a joint operation on Tuesday. The Delhi Police has taken four alleged terrorists on a 14-day police remand after producing them at a judge’s house late on Tuesday night. While two alleged terrorists will be presented before the court on Wednesday. 

Those arrested have been identified as – Osama (22) from Delhi, Jaan Mohammad Shaikh (47) from Maharashtra, Zeeshan Qamar (28) from Allahabad, Moolchand (47) from Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareilly, Mohd Abu Bakar (23) from Behraich and Mohd Amir Javed (31) from Lucknow.

A terrorist living in Maharashtra was arrested from Rajasthan’s Kota, 2 were caught from Delhi and 3 were caught with the help of Uttar Pradesh ATS.

Neeraj Thakur, Special CP, Delhi Police Special Cell, said the alleged terrorists formed 2 teams– one was being coordinated by Dawood Ibrahim’s brother, Anees Ibrahim, it was tasked to get the arms into India from across the border and keeping them concealed here. The other team was to arrange funding via Hawala.

Those arrested were doing recce of cities ahead of upcoming festive season, police said, adding, Navarati and Ram Leela gatherings were their targets. The police have also recovered arms, ammunition, explosives and special pistols that were supposed to be used for targeted killings from their possession.

Delhi Police Special Cell said the arrested have stated that there were 14-15 Bangla speaking persons in their group who might have been taken for similar training. It looks like this operation was closely coordinated from across the border. Investigation revealed that the terror suspects were trained under a major or Lieutenant rank officer named Ghazi. There were two subordinates named Jabbar and Hamza.

The six terrorists were trained in a farmhouse on the outskirts of Karachi by Pakistan army personnel and were taught how to cause maximum damage.

The group was first send to Muscat, Oman’s port capital, on a valid visa where they quarantined for 10 days. After this, they were sent to Iran by sea. From Iran they went to Karachi, using a boat.

After reaching Karachi, they stayed in a farm house on the outskirts of the city. Three people from the Pakistan army trained them about bomb-making and reading maps. They also talked to them about how to make maximum impact by targeting high density population areas.

Finally agreeing to a deal with Delhi Police, protesting farmers are all set to take out their tractor rally in Delhi against the farm laws on Republic Day.

Bharatiya Kisan Union national media in-charge Dharmendra Malik told media that more than 24 lakh tractors will take part and the rally will start from Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur borders.

The first one will start from Delhi’s Singhu border and pass through Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Bawana, Qutabgarh, Auchandi border and Kharkhoda toll plaza, covering a distance of 63 kilometres.

The second tractor rally will start from Tikri border and travel a 63-km route through Nangloi, Najafgarh, Jharoda border and Rohtak bypass and Asoda toll plaza.

The third will cover a distance of about 46 km, starting from Ghazipur through the Apsara border, Hapur Road and Lal Kuan.

Many farm leaders have assured the government their tractor rally will be peaceful, it will not affect the Republic Day parade which will be around India Gate.

The second rally will start from Tikri border and pass through Nangloi, Najafgarh, Jharoda border and Rohtak bypass and Asoda toll plaza.

A day before the rally, the Haryana government issued an advisory in which it said people should avoid unnecessary travel towards Delhi between January 25 and 27. It said the tractor parade would disturb the traffic on the national highway from Karnal and Rohtak towards Delhi.

The rally will also impact traffic on KMP-KGP Expressway and interchanges at Kundli, Assaudha and Badli will remain closed, the advisory said.

The third will start from Ghazipur and pass through the Apsara border, Hapur Road and KGT Expressway.

Rules to be followed in the tractor rally

No trolleys will be allowed. Trolleys with special tableaux maybe exempt. Every tractor or cart should have the national flag and the flag of the farmers’ organizations.

Any political parties’ flag will not allowed. Those people who will be the part of the tractor rally are not allowed to carry any weapon. Provocative slogans and banners are also not allowed in the tractor parade.

Central Government has suggested Delhi Police be on high alert for the next couple of days to tackle any kind of unwanted events.

Delhi Police Special Cell today killed two wanted criminals in an encounter at Pul Prahladpur area, near Badarpur at around 5 am. The criminals, identified as Raja Qureshi and Ramesh Bahadur,  were wanted in multiple cases. Both the criminals were involved in a recent murder case in Karawal Nagar area.

According to ANI, a trap was planned by the police as they received a tip-off. In the ensuing encounter, Qureshi and Bahadur, sustained gunshot injuries and were moved to a hospital where they were declared brought dead.

As per reports, 30 rounds of bullets were fired from both the sides.

Bharti Airtel restores mobile internet and calling services after the telecom company snapped its services. Bharti Airtel along with Vodafone, Idea and Reliance Jio have suspended their mobile internet along with voice and SMS services in the national capital as per the government orders.

Airtel, in a tweet, confirmed that voice, internet, and SMS services were currently suspended, following instructions from government authorities. Later the company deleted its tweet. Vodafone and Idea also confirmed that an internet shutdown has been ordered in parts of Delhi NCR.

This recovery was made, in the early hours of Tuesday, in an official raid conducted at a cold storage located at Mariyapuri road in Kundli village of Sonepat

“From 102 cartons carrying kismis (raisins), 204 polypacks concealed between cardboard layering, containing about 50 kilograms Heroin recovered. Two more Afghan nationals arrested.”  Tweeted Delhi Police Special cell.

The two arrested are reported to have come from Kandahar and Helmand of Afghanistan and that they entered India through Wagah-Attari Border.
