Singer-Rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh on Saturday refuted the domestic violence and infidelity accusations levelled against him by his wife Shalini Talwar. The Punjabi singer has issued a statement calling the allegations false and malicious.

In the official statement shared on social media, Singh said he is deeply pained and distressed by the false and malicious allegations levied against him and his family by her wife Shalini Talwar. He said the accusations are severely odious.

The singer mentioned that he had never issued a public statement or note in the past despite being targeted to harsh criticism for his lyrics, speculation on his health, and negative media coverage in general. But this time, he has broken silence because some of the allegations were directed at his family, his old parents, and younger sister. He said the allegations are cynical and defaming in nature.

Singh has been associated with the industry for over 15 years and has worked with artists and musicians across the country. He stated that everyone was aware of his relationship with his wife. He said she has been an integral part of his crew for more than a decade now and has always accompanied him to his shoots, meetings, and events. 

Dismissing all the allegations, the singer said he will not comment further since the matter is sub-judice before the court. He said he has full faith in the Indian judicial system and confidence that the truth will prevail soon.

Singh humbly requested his fans and the public to not draw any conclusion until the court pronounces the verdict. He concluded his post by thanking his fans and well-wishers for their love and support.  

On August 3, Shalini had filed a case of domestic violence, sexual violence, mental harassment, and financial fraud against the singer at Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court. The court issued a notice to the singer and sought his response by August 28 in the related matter.
