US President Donald Trump his hit out at micro-blogging platform Twitter following suspension of his account by the social media giant citing risk of further incitement of violence. Following the ban, the US President issued a statement from Team Trump account saying Twitter was not about free speech. He said Twitter employees have coordinated with Democrats and Radical left to silence him. He added that he predicted it was eventually going to happen. Trump said they are negotiating with other sites and an announcement in this regard would be made soon. He said they were also looking at the possibility of building their own platform in future. Following his statement. Twitter banned the Team Trump account on its platform as well.

It is the first time Twitter has banned a head of state. The micro-blogging platform has been under pressure to take action against Trump for a long time. The deadly violence that broke out in US Capitol earlier this week was the final nail in the coffin for Trump as the US President was accused of attempting a coup and inciting the mob to march to the building. Trump had posted several inflammatory tweets on the day of violence which left five people dead. President Trump had posted several posts on Twitter alleging fraud during the US election as well.

Earlier Facebook Inc also banned Trump from using Facebook and Instagram indefinitely. Company’s chief executive Mark Zuckerberg posted the moven was taken to prevent Trump from using their platform to incite violent insurrection against a democratically elected government. Snapchat has also blocked US President’s account concerned by his dangerous rhetoric.

Donald Trump’s term as US President will be over on January 20 when new President takes oath as 46th President of the United States. A bitter Trump has said he will not be attending Biden’s inauguration.
