An auto driver allegedly committed suicide in Hyderabad over alleged harassment by a loan company on Wednesday. The loan financier has been arrested by the Hyderabad police.

A case has been registered at Kulsumpura police station based on the complaint of his family members. An investigation was on in this matter.

A official said that they received a call from a woman on Wednesday evening. She informed that her husband has committed suicide in his house. Mohammad Nizamuddin was facing financial problems for the last few months. He was jobless, and he was unable to pay the EMI of the loan, which he took from a finance company. They were calling and harassing Nizamuddin to repay the amount.

His wife said that Nizamuddin was not able to bear the shame and committed suicide after making a video saying that the finance company was harassing him.

Reports said that he had purchased two mobile phones through EMI from the finance company and he was struggling to pay the amount. He had to pay Rs 4000 more. The finance company employee came to his house and started harassing him.

In a similar incident, an auto driver attempted suicide due to Hyderabad traffic police harassment in February 2018. Reports said that the local leaders and higher police officials intervened in this matter and convinced him to not take the extreme step.

On Tuesday, a degree girl student committed suicide by jumping from a high rise building at Miyapur in the city. She was studying at Nizam college and staying with her grandparents at an apartment. The police seized her diary and her mobile phone. A senior police official said that she wrote in her dairy that she was not willing to live and was upset with her life. An investigation was on this matter.
