In the latest development of Aryan Khan drug case, senior advocate Amit Desai, who argued for the bail plea of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan, said that Aryan Khan was not even on the cruise and that he had neither used drugs nor was anything found on him. The hearing is still ongoing in a special court of NDPS in Mumbai. Earlier, Aryan was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on October 2^nd, during a raid on cruise ship in Mumbai.

Mr Desai denied the allegations against Aryan by saying that it is an absurd and false allegation against his client. ‘Aryan had no cash when he was on the cruise ship, so how could he buy drugs,’ the lawyer argued. Desai also slammed NCB’s claim that Aryan Khan admitted, ‘he was about to use charas that was found on Arbaaz Merchant’ that it was a forced admission. “The court knows how people are forced to make these statements,” said Desai in Aryan Khan’s defence.

Whereas, NCB on Wednesday strongly opposed Aryan Khan’s bail plea saying that he cannot be granted bail as the investigation suggest that he is one of the key part of the nexus that Aryan Khan used to buy drugs through Arbaaz Merchant, and termed it as an illegal drug chain.

Reacting to that, Aryan’s lawyer argued to the court and said, it is a very serious term that they have dumped on Aryan Khan, the NCB definitely needs to know what does ‘illicit trafficking’ means according to the NDPS act.

“They are some young kids. In many countries these substances are legal. Let us not penalise in bail. Let us not make it worse for them. They have suffered enough, they have learnt their lesson, if at all. They are not peddlers, racketeers or traffickers. We as a country have moved into a reformative state. Where earlier the punishment for consumption was five years has been brought down to one year in 2001,” said Aryan Khan’s lawyer.
