The University of Delhi will not reopen its colleges on January 10, according to the government fact-checking organisation PIB Fact Check, which debunks the varsity’s reopening rumours.

According to a false DU directive issued on December 28, the university would reopen institutions for all postgraduate and undergraduate programmes on January 10 and begin offline lectures.

According to a tweet from PIB Fact Check, as shown in a false order that claimed that news of @UnivofDelhi, the university has decided to reopen colleges and all the departments for offline sessions for all PG or UG programmes in phases beginning January 10, 2022.

However, the university has not issued such an order. Therefore, the circular of reopening of Delhi University was totally fake.

Considering college closures are likely to be prolonged as a result of the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital and the Omicron outbreak, students must find and rely on a credible source for the most up-to-date information.
