Durga Ashtami is one of the auspicious festivals for Hindus. It is one of the five-day long Durga Puja festivals which is celebrated in honour of Goddess Durga. The eighth day of the nine-day Navratri celebration marks the victory of Goddess Durga over Mahishasura, the demon.
