With the digital economy growing each passing day, more and more people are finding their way online for shopping and as a consequence, online frauds have also sharply risen along with new converts to the see-shop-satisfy policy of online commerce. Recently, a woman complained of online fraud by e-commerce giant Amazon. She claimed that she had ordered an electric toothbrush worth Rs 12,000, but she got chat masala instead.

The woman tweeted her experience on social media platforms. Sharing photos of her online parcel, she said that her mother had placed a cash-on-delivery order. When she held the package and realized it was suspiciously light, she opened it before handing the cash to the delivery executive and found a chat masala box inside. She requested Amazon to take some action regarding the same and also remove the seller who’s been scamming buyers for over a year.

The defrauded buyer slammed Amazon as well, she tweeted that It was absolutely appalling that the biggest online firm worldwide was allowing fraud sellers to continue using their platform to rob people, despite dozens of customers flagging this scam over the past year. Do something ASAP, she added.

The woman’s viral post after being scammed by Amazon

When the post was shared on Twitter, it got a lot of likes and shares in no time. Many users attacked Amazon in their comments. One of the users said the platform is least interested in investigating such matters, it is more concerned about making money, no matter if the sellers continue to defraud people or are real. Another user suggested the woman file a complaint in the consumer court as it will teach such fraudsters a good lesson. A third user called going to the courts or filing a complaint a waste of time.
