Jaffar Express train in Pakistan travelling from Quetta to Peshawar was split into two after an explosion was reported in the running train on Thursday morning. The explosion in the train has led to reports of two deaths till now, however, several injuries have also been reported.

So far, reports of 4 people being injured due to the explosion of the train going to Peshawar have come to light.

As per the reports, the explosion transpired on the Peshawar-Quetta Jaffer Express when it was passing the Chichawatni railway station in Pakistan’s Punjab provinces.

Videos have also emerged showing the aftermath of the blast as the train coach can be seen falling apart or in ruins. The video shows parts of the train in completely dilapidated condition as doors and windows can be seen blown apart due to the impact of the explosion.

The explosion was a result of a cylinder blowing up in the coach after a passenger carried the cylinder into the washroom of the train following which the blast was reported which led to the train spitting from the middle. The investigative agencies have reached the spot and are probing and assessing the matter further.

So far no terrorist outfit has outrightly come out to take responsibility for the explosion of the Jaffar express, however, it is being speculated that the militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is behind the incident as the outfit also behind some previous attacks in the country.

Previously the TTP were the conspirators behind the suicide bombing in a mosque in Pakistan last month which claimed the lives of more than 100 people. It was reported that the suicide bomber entered the mosque area wearing a police uniform on a motorcycle.

The incident reportedly transpired in Pakistan’s Peshawar on January 30 and the suicide bomber was identified as Moazzam Jah Ansa who had links to a militant network, said reports.
