South superstar and Family Man 2 famed actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has joined Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan in the Hindi adaptation of Russo Brother’s action series Citadel. Both the actors were papped together last year. But now the makers of Family Man web series have finally revealed the big project.

The Indian adaptation of Citadel will release on Amazon Prime and the yet untitled series is being made by by The Family Man creator duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. The screenplay is written by Sita R. Menon, along with Raj & DK.

Raj and DK had worked with Samantha in Family Man season 2, marking their first collaboration. But now this duo will be seen again creating impact at the OTT with Citadel’s Indian installment. The Production is currently underway in Mumbai. The unit will next head to northern Indian locations, followed by Serbia and South Africa. However, the makers have yet not revealed the release date of the show.

For the unversed, Citadel is an upcoming American science fiction drama television series created by Patrick Moran and the Russo brothers for Amazon Prime Video. Talking about her role in the film, Ruth Prabhu said that she is thrilled to be a part of this brilliant universe conceptualised by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO, which has interconnected storylines between the productions across the globe.

On the other hand, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was the lead in 2022 thriller Yashoda and made an impact across India with her special appearance in Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1’s item song Ooh Antava and also in the second season of Prime Video’s The Family Man.

On the work front, Varun Dhawan was last seen in superhit Bollywood films like Bhediya and Jug Jugg Jiyyo, opposite Kriti Sanon and Kiara Advani respectively. He is also shooting for his next film Bawaal opposite Janhvi Kapoor.
