Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to announce that he has wrapped up the first schedule of Sam Bahadur. The film is a biopic on Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. Sam Bahadur will be directed by the ace director Meghna Gulzar, marking her second collaboration with Vicky Kaushal after the 2017 blockbuster Raazi.

Vicky shared some pictures with the team and the director and wrote that after relentlessly working for more than 2 months across 5 cities, they have wrapped up the schedule and he also said that f more cities and a few more months are still there to go.

The National Award-winning actor will once again don the Indian Army uniform and play the titular war hero in the biographical drama. The makers of the film have not yet made any declaration about the release date of the film but they revealed the entire star cast for the Meghna Gulzar’s directorial.

The story of Sam Bahadur will revolve around the first Indian Army officer (played by Vicky Kaushal) who was promoted to the rank of field marshal. Dangal girls are also going to be a part of the Meghna Gulzar’s directorial. While Sanaya Malhotra will play Manekshaw’s wife Silloo, Fatima Sana Shaikh will portray the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on silver screen.

For the unversed, Sam Manekshaw was the chief of Indian Army who led the Indian side during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. Manekshaw was also the first ever Indian Army officer who promoted to the rank of field marshal during the British rule. Be it the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971 or the creation of Bangladesh in 1971, Sam Manekshaw has a big contribution in these events. Later he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan, the second and third highest civilian awards of India.
