Veteran Tamil actor Rajnikanth’s daughter Aishwaryaa Rajnikanth filed a police complaint stating that her gold and diamond jewellery worth Rs 3.60 lakhs have gone missing from her Chennai residence.

The singer-director registered a police complaint at the Teynampet police station in Chennai. Aishwaryaa in a complaint, reportedly, stated that 60 sovereigns of gold and diamond jewellery have gone missing from her locker.

The Cinema Veeran director has accused three of his servants, two domestic workers and one driver, to be behind the burglary at her residence. She said she was not staying in the home for long stretches and the house servants were frequenting the place.

Aishwaryaa also revealed that she wore the jewellery for her sister Soundarya’s wedding in 2019. Since the wedding, the jewellery was kept in a locker, which some of her servants knew about.

According to the reports, the stolen jewellery includes diamond sets, antique gold pieces, Navaratnam sets, bangles and nearly 60 sovereigns of gold worth Rs 3.60 lakh.

The Chennai Police have filed a complaint under Section 381 (Whoever, being a clerk or servant, or being employed in the capacity of a clerk or servant, commits theft in respect of any property in the possession of his master or employer, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The police are currently investigating the matter and action will be taken further.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Aishwaryaa Rajnikanth is currently directing Lal Salaam. The film, which is rumoured to be set against the backdrop of cricket and communism, stars Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant in lead roles.

In Gujarat, two women were caught on CCTV stealing jewelry worth lakhs after entering a jewelry showroom with a child. In the video, the women can be seen checking out jewellery. Outsmarting the salesperson, they steal the ornaments.

The video shows women waiting to see the jewellery in the showroom under the pretense of being genuine customers. One of the women is holding the child as the salesperson begins to show her ornaments on her request. After acting for a few more moments to look interested in the pieces on the counter, she secretly steals the jewellery.

This is not the first time that such an incident has happened. In a similar incident, two women in Gurugram were caught stealing gold jewellery worth Rs 11 lakh at Shri Ram Jewellers a few days ago.

Before the theft, the two even bought gold ornaments weighing around 2 grams to gain the shop owner’s and other staff’s trust. They even entered fake mobile numbers and wrong addresses while providing details for the bill.

In a similar incident, a woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur stole a box full of jewellery by hiding it in her saree. The incident was caught on the CCTV camera in the showroom. According to reports, the necklace set was worth almost Rs 7 lakh.
