In yet another case of gold smuggling, a passenger was caught with gold worth Rs 20 lakh that was concealed inside an underwear  at the Hyderabad airport on Wednesday.

The custom officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad caught the person and after investigation found the passenger had concealed gold paste weighing 331 grams. The passenger was travelling from Sharjah.

Twitter users filled the comment box with hilarious reactions.

A user shared her last month flight experience saying a she was travelling with sun dried chilies, which got detected and saying these smugglers think gold in the form of paste won’t get detected.

A user expressed the dissatisfaction over the recording of the underwear that appears to be a men’s underwear saying how would they treat if it would be pasted in a women underwear, would it still be captured on camera in such manner.

An user took it very seriously and suggested the idea for safe smuggling from the next time onwards. He suggested on making a shirt of the gold and wear it and pass through without getting caught.

In a complete similar incident reported last month from Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport Lucknow, two smugglers were held by the custom authorities for smuggling gold worth more than a crore hidden inside an underwear.

Interestingly, both of them were also returning from Sharjah.

It has now become common, smugglers getting caught and gold worth lakhs, crores getting seized at different airports across the country, where custom officials find passengers travelling Muscat, Sharjah, UAE and other countries smuggle gold into India.

On top of that, the smugglers with passing time have innovated new ways and techniques of smuggling with some hiding it in the lower deck of a suitcase, turning it into the paste forms and concealing it inside different items with underwear being the latest example, in fact, the moonshiners have come up with the technique of turning it into liquid form and mixing it in liquor bottles etc.

Tamil Nadu’s Chennai airport custom officers on Wednesday nabbed two passengers, who were coming from Oman’s Muscat for smuggling 3 kg of gold worth Rs 1.33 crores. The report says that the offender was being held at the security check for carrying gold illegal inside their suitcase.

The whole incident has been captured on camera and shared by the airport custom authority. Later, the same video has been tweeted by the news agency ANI, where the customs officers were seen taking out the hidden gold strips from inside a trolly suitcase.

In the video, it can be seen that one of the customs officers ripped apart the offender’s suitcase in order to get the illegal gold. As the video moves ahead, the officers also were seen taking out the gold strips weighing 3 kg that were concealed in the outer lining of trolley suitcases.

According to the reports, the airport authority revealed that initially, they had noticed some unusual activity by both the accused. Later, during the security check, they felt something inside in their beg and forced them to check every inch of them.

Police say that further investigation is going on and soon offenders will be punished as per the law.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time such an incident come into the limelight. Earlier, Mumbai Airport customs officers seized almost 15 kgs of gold worth Rs more than 7.80 crore. They have also arrested seven people in the matter.

In another similar incident, the Delhi airport authority arrested two youths for carrying drugs worth Rs 10 crore. During the investigation, the accused accepted their crime and revealed that it was their second of smuggling drugs.
