Google has introduced a new feature on Google Maps where users can find the nearest Covid-19 vaccination centres near them. The feature is available on both IOS and android.

The new feature lets users know where they can get themselves or their family vaccinated without any problem (people who are eligible for vaccines only). The feature allows users to let know the timing of the vaccination centre so that they could schedule their appointment according to the timing. Google has introduced this feature at a time when the country is witnessing a huge spike in coronavirus cases in the country.

How to find vaccination centres near you using Google Maps

Step 1. If you are an Android user, download the updated version of Google Maps from the play store, if you’re on iOS users download the updated version of Google maps from Appstore. If you already have Google Maps, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Open up your city on the app

Make sure the map is reading your current location, if it is not reading, you can set your location manually. Search your city on the top bar of the App manually, for example, search for ‘New Delhi, and press OK.

Step 3: Search for vaccination centres

Once you set your location, proceed by searching for vaccination centres in the same search bar. After clicking, the Google map will show you all the list of hospitals and clinics near you that are legally authorized to vaccinate people.

Check the listings

Once the search results have shown up, the user can check further details like timings, address and more. User also can check the best vaccination centre that suits your needs according to timing and convenience.

According to the Union Health Ministry date on Tuesday, India has witnessed 2,59,170 fresh Covid-19 cases in the Country with 1,761 deaths. Data said the country saw a total of 1,54,761 discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery toll to 1,31,08,582.

Google Maps will soon be updating one of its key features in which it will show the “busyness” status of a place at map view itself. The new feature of Google Maps will be available for Android, iOS, and desktop soon. At an event on , Google announced it is trying to make it easier for users to access health and safety information on Google Maps and Google Search in the coming months.

Details like the requirement of masks, whether the staff of the place you are visiting are wearing masks or not. Users will also be able to use the live view feature on Google Maps to learn more about places like grocery stores, restaurants, bars, etc. Users just have to do it point the phone’s camera to a place to find if it’s open, how busy it is, its star rating, and also its health and safety information.

Google Maps has been showing busyness information since 2016. The feature saw an uptick of 50% between March and May as people became more careful about going out due to the pandemic. Google is now expanding the live busyness information to millions of places, and it plans to increase global coverage in upcoming months.

Google is putting extra effort into Google Lens for their users to get an excellent experience. Now, Google Lens can identify mathematics or science problems, and will accordingly show step-by-step solutions and guides to help students. This capability can be accessed from the app’s search bar on Android and iOS. This feature will be available for users in the coming months.

Recently, Google introduced one of its latest features in Maps called ‘Covid layer’ in which it will show users important information like the number of Covid-19 cases in an area that will help users to decide whether to go to that area or not.
