Amid the growing cases of Covid-19 in India, there have been speculations of lockdown in various states. States like Delhi and Maharashtra have already imposed night curfews. As for Gurugram, here is what the Deputy Commissioner Dr Yash Garg had to say.

Gurugram’s Deputy Commissioner cleared the lockdown speculations being made by civilians. According to him, there is no need to impose a lockdown in Gurugram as of yet. He also addressed the rumours regarding migrant workers leaving for their homes due to the growing number of Covid-19 cases. He said the rumours to be false in all senses. He further clarified that the industries in Gurugram will be functioning normally.

Deputy Commissioner Dr Garg said that the situation of Covid-19 cases in the district of Gurugram are currently under control. The number of Covid-19 patients have undeniably increased. However, most of these cases are showing mild or no symptoms.

In regard with the rumours going around about migrant workers leaving for their homes, the Deputy Commissioner called them vague and baseless. He also added that industries, as well as, production units have been working normally in the Gurugram district.

Deepak Maini, the state secretary of Federation of Indian Industry and an official of Sector 37 Industrial Association clarified that industrial units in Gurugram are being operated on a regular basis, and the migrant workers are also working regularly. He also shared that he has gotten no information regarding the workers returning to their homes, and these stories are false. In addition, he made an appeal to the workers to not fall for any such false rumours and keep doing their jobs.

Vinay Gupta, the patron of Daulatabad Industrial Area Association and Manoj Tyagi, secretary of IMT Manesar Industrial Association also said something similar. According to them, currently, there are no problems related to migrant workers anywhere.
