A video is doing rounds on the internet wherein Bajrang Dal activists could be seen renaming the Gujarat Congress office as Haj House. The Congress office is located in Ahmedabad and the incident took place on Friday morning.

The Vishva Hindu Parisha, which is a sister organisation of the Bajrang Dal said the protests were carried out against Gujarat Congress president Jagdish Thakor’s remarks regarding minorities.

Reports also said that the protestors also put up stickers of Haj House on the statue of the late former prime minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi.

Jagdish Thakor’s remarks on minorities

Jagdish Thakor on Wednesday addressed the party workers and promoted former prime minister Manmohan Singh’s opinion about minorities. He had said that minorities must have the first claim on the resources of the nation.

Thakor said that Congress will not be diverted from this ideology even if it leads to defeat in the upcoming Gujarat elections.

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla shared the video of Jagdish Thakor and said that this is the difference in thoughts and actions. For BJP and PM Modi poor have the first right to resources of the nation but for Congress, one community has the first right on the resources, Poonawalla tweeted.

Meanwhile, a Congress spokesperson condemned the Bajrang Dal’s act and said that the party is considering lodging a complaint of trespassing against the protestors.
