Khalistan flags were found hanging on the main gate and boundary wall of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Dharamshala on Sunday. The video of the same was shared by ANI and is doing rounds on the internet.

As per the police, the flags were suspected to be put up late on Saturday and have been removed from the gates and other places now.

After the incident came to light, Himachal Chief Minister Jairam Thakur condemned the incident. He tweeted that he condemn the cowardly act of putting up Khalistan flags at the gate of the Dharamshala Assembly Complex. He also wrote that only the Winter Session is held in the Assembly so there is a need for more security arrangements during that time. Thakur also ordered a probe and strict action against the act.

Have a look at Jairam Thakur’s tweet:

A case has also been registered against unidentified people. Kangra SP Khushal Sharma said the officials have removed the Khalistan flags from the Vidhan Sabha gate. He also suspected it to be an act of some tourists from Punjab.

The incident came after the Anti-Terrorist Front of India burnt the Khalistan flag outside the deputy commissioner’s office in Shimla on Friday. The group was led by its national president Viresh Shandilaya and Himachal Pradesh unit chief Rajkumar Agarwal who burnt the flag and also raised slogans against the demands of Khalistan. Shandilaya also announced a Rs 51 lakh cash reward for that person who will behead the Sikhs For Justice leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu.

Pannu called for hoisting the Khalistani flag in Shimla on the same day.
