A harrowing story has come from Bihar’s Patna where the Patna police have registered a complaint against former RJD MLA Gulab Yadav and Senior IAS officer Sanjeev Hans for allegedly gangraping a woman advocate at gunpoint. The FIR against the two accused was filed on Tuesday in Rupaspur Police Station on the directions of chief judicial magistrate Naveem Kumar Srivastava of Danapur Civil Court.

The victim approached the High Court after which the Civil Court directed the police to file a complaint.

It is reported that the victim had priorly approached the police to file a complaint against the accused, however, the police refused to file a report. After getting refused by the police, the victim in November 2021 filed a petition in court after which ACJM Naveen Kumar Srivastava of Danapur Civil Court instructed the police to register a complaint.

It is also reported that the victim has accused Gulab Yadav and Sanjeev Hans for blackmailing her and threatening to kill her if she alarmed anyone.

Reports say that the victim was invited to Gulab Yadav’s residence as the Yadav had guised the victim to make her a member of state women’s commission. After the victim came to meet the former RJD MLA, she was allegedly raped at gun point, suggest reports.

The reports also suggest that in 2017, Gulab had introduced the victim to IAS Sanjeev Hans in Pune where she was drugged and gangraped. The two accused had also reportedly made videos of the act.

The two accused have been charged under IPC 120B, 313, 323, 341, 376, 376 D, 420, 504, 506/34 and Section 67 of the IT Act.

Police’s statement

Patna SSP Manavjiit Singh Dhillon, while speaking to the media, said that the investigation of the case has been assigned to Danapur’s Circle Inspector Manju Kumari. He further said that the medical assessment of the victim will be performed on January 12. The victim’s statement will also be recorded under section 164.

The blood samples for DNA collection will also be done by medical team after getting a nod from the court.
