[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]An IITian joined group “D” job in the Indian Railways in Dhanbad railway division as track maintainer, popularly known as trackman, according to Media reports.

Shrawan Kumar, a resident of Patna, completed his B.Tech and M.Tech degree from Mumbai IIT. He said job security was the main reason for joining the Railways. He has been posted at Chandrapura under Public Works Inspector (PWI), Telo and looks after the track maintenance between Chandrapura and Telo section.

Many senior officers of the Dhanbad Railway Division are surprised. They had never imagined that such a highly qualified man would ever join on “D “post.

Kumar joined Mumbai IIT in 2010 in integrated dual degree course and obtained a degree in 2015. He said he always wanted a government job since the beginning. 

Kumar expressed high hopes of becoming an officer in government sector in future. Several of his IITian friends are in private jobs but they failed to convince him to opt for the same, according to the Hindustan Times. 

The shocking decision by Shrawan Kumar is either attributed to craze for government job or rampant unemployment problem in the country.
