India on Monday registered another one-sided victory over Sri Lanka at Bengalore’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium and clinched the series by 2-0.

Defending the target of 446, India were bowled out Sri Lanka on 208 in the second session of the final test match on a pitch that turned from day one.

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah ended Karunaratne’s praise worthy knock 107 runs and registered his 8th five-wicket haul in Test while off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin took four wickets over the day and become the 8th highest wicket-taker in Test cricket. He surpassed the South African legend pacer who have taken 439 test wickets.

India’s middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer has shine once again with his match-defining 92-runs knock in the first innings and followed it up with an 87-ball 67. While Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant scored a counter-attacking half century in the second innings. He raced to his 50 in just 28 balls, the fastest fifty by an Indian batter in Test cricket.

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli scored 23, 13 in the match and has now played 18 Tests without scoring a century.

India have won their 15th successive Test series at home. India last lost a Test match at home in February 2021 to England.

Despite of Iyer’s 92-run knock, India were bowled out on 252 after electing to bat in the Test. Sri Lanka were rolled over for just 109, with Jasprit Bumrah taking a five-wicket haul. In the second innings, India declared on 303/9.
