In the span of two weeks, another mid-air incident has been reported on Sunday, when an IndiGo Sharjah-Hyderabad flight lost its path and landed in Pakistan’s Karachi after the pilot reported a technical defect in the aircraft. Now, the airline sent another aircraft to Karachi so that the passengers could reach their respective destinations.

Notably, this is a second technical-related incident that has been reported by the airlines which landed in Karachi. Earlier, SpiceJet SG-11 from Delhi to Dubai diverted its path and landed aircraft at Karachi Airport after witnessing some technical glitch in the cockpit.

While confirming the news, IndiGo released an official statement under which it said that IndiGo flight 6E-1406, operating from Sharjah to Hyderabad was diverted to Karachi. The pilot observed a technical defect. Necessary procedures were followed and as a precaution, the aircraft was diverted to Karachi,” the airline added in the press release.

The airline further informed through the press release that an additional flight has been arranged and sent to Karachi to fly the passengers to Hyderabad.

Earlier this month, a SpiceJet aircraft, which took off from Delhi and was headed to Dubai, landed in Karachi with around 150 passengers aboard. All passengers were said to be safe. However, the incident drew the attention of aviation regulator DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation), which started a probe into the matter.

Again, this comes at a time when Indian airlines are on the radar of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) after reporting technical glitches again and again. The authority also issued a show-cause notice to Spicejet over the continuously reporting the degradation of safety margins in its aircraft.

The report said the airline has been asked by the DCGA why action should not be taken against the carrier after giving multiple technical incidents in the last few weeks.
